It’s #Metoo campaign’s turn to hit cricket as well. Rahul Johri, Chief Executive Officer of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) since 2016, has been named in a Twitter post by author Harnidh Kaur, who has shared screenshots of a detailed account of the alleged victim on the social media. He has been accused of taking advantage of the woman in question by promising a job opportunity.

The Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA), which is overseeing the functioning of the BCCI, said in a statement that it would seek an explanation from Johri. “The future course of action will be considered on receipt of his explanation,” the BCCI statement said.

Meanwhile, well known Sri Lankan cricketers — World Cup wining captain Arjuna Ranatunga and pacer Lasith Malinga have also been named in the social media. Malinga has been accused by prominent singer Chinmayi Sripaada, who has shared a post on behalf on an anonymous user.
