Worker jailed for groping tourist

A worker has been jailed for three months for groping a woman visitor who asked him for directions to a hotel.

Two French women, aged 21 and 22, in August stopped their car near a construction site on Shaikh Zayed Road and asked a Pakistani construction worker, 25, for directions to their hotel. Then as the women walked towards their hotel the worker reportedly followed them. As the tourists walked towards the lift, the defendant slapped one of the visitors on her back and groped her. The ruling is subject to appeal within 15 days. (Staff Report)
