Court issues notice on Zainab killer’s hanging

A Lahore High Court (LHC) division bench yesterday issued notice to home secretary Punjab for today on a plea seeking directions for public hanging of Zainab’s killer.

The bench, headed by Sardar Mohammad Shamim Khan, issued the notice on a civil miscellaneous application, filed by the father of Zainab, Mohammad Amin Ansari. Earlier, the petitioner’s counsel argued that the antiterrorism court concerned had issued black warrants for execution of the condemned prisoner, Imran Ali, in the Zainab murder case.
