Holidaymaker convicted of groping woman

A holidaymaker has been sentenced in absentia to three months in jail for following a married woman and groping her near the lift of a hotel in Dubai. The incident took place in June when the 24-year-old Saudi woman and her family were vacationing in Dubai. Shortly after breakfast, when the woman headed to the lift to go to her room, the defendant, a Saudi man, groped her outside the elevator.

The Saudi woman called her husband and told him what happened before he reported the matter to the police. The accused fled the scene. (Staff Report)
