Sharjah beach project road opens to traffic
1,000 parking slots along 3.3km dual carriageway available on non-beach side
Sharjah Urban Planning Council (SUPC) on Monday announced the opening of the dual carriageway along the Sharjah Beach Project, with two south-bound lanes now fully operational and accessible to the public.
The new 3.3-kilometre road (from Ajman border to the roundabout adjacent to the Sharjah Ladies Club) will ease commuting within the project’s road networks, and boost new investment opportunities within the area and its surroundings, the council said in a press release.
It has been developed with environmentally-friendly lighting and equipped with parking areas along the nonbeach side of the Sharjah Beach project.
The Sharjah Beach Project is developed by SUPC in partnership with the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA).
Khalid Al Ali, secretary General of SUPC said, “The new dual carriageway is now fully operational for the public.”
Yousuf Al Suwaiji, Chairman, SRTA, said: “The Sharjah Beach project will include more than 1,000 parking spaces.”
