Ranjan Madugalle (SRI) of 94 as Zaman — while a glory shot.
“I bat like this, but sometimes you click and sometimes you don’t,” said Ahmad.
“I was positive as we had lost five wickets for 57 so I thought that if we attack we can rescue ourselves and myself.
“So I tried to attack, played shots and got some early runs. Fakhar played a brilliant knock and from him I got confidence because I like that the other batsmen rotate the strike and he did that and played brilliantly in his first match. He deserved credit for doing so well,” he added.
Expressing surprise at the turn on first day itself, the skipper said: “It’s strange that the pitch here has behaved like this. It started to turn after 11am, it was surprising as it has never happened before. So the way this pitch is behaving we will try to bowl them out early and make them chase more in the last innings.” attempting
