Some film goers in the US, led by politicians, have branded unpatriotic, after noticing that the film does not have a scene showing Neil Armstrong planting the American flag on the moon’s surface. Armstrong’s family has defended director Damien Chazelle’s decision, saying: “This story is universal. Of course, it celebrates an America achievement. It also celebrates an achievement “for all mankind,” as it says on the plaque Neil left on the moon.”
