34 BHUs in capital to be upgraded

Member of National Assembly, Nafeesa Inayatullah Khan Khattak said yesterday the government has decided to upgrade and modernise 34 Basic Health Units (BHUs) in the outskirts of the capital, to provide the latest medical facilities for women.

Khattak said these BHUs will be merged with family planning centres which will reduce government’ expenditures and be upgraded with better medical facilities. Women from the capital’s outskirts face difficulties in reaching main hospitals, so they will be provided all necessary facilities at the BHU in their vicinity.
