Mysuru titular queen’s mother passes away

Chinnammanni, mother of Mysuru’s titular queen, Pramoda Devi Wodiyar, passed away yesterday, aged 98, an official said.

“Pramoda Devi’s mother died in her sleep at a private hospital, of age-related ailments,” a palace official told IANS. Following her death, religious and cultural events in the Amba Villas Palace have been cancelled for Vijayadashmi. The royal family’s adopted scion, Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wodiyar, also stayed away from the Mysuru Dusshera victory parade. (IANS)
