Three

tourists were sentenced to six months in jail each for beating up a taxi driver and leaving him with a permanently disfigured nose.

In March, the Pakistani driver was sitting in his car outside a hotel in Al Muraqqabat, when he saw the three Saudi tourists assaulting a resident. When he tried to intervene, it led to a heated argument with the trio, aged 25, 28 and 30, beating him up and fracturing his nose.

On Thursday, the Dubai Court of First Instance sentenced the trio in absentia, as they failed to attend their trial. (Staff Report)
