10 vehicles torched in Jharkhand

Ten vehicles were torched and more than 11 people injured in clashes that broke out between two communities during the idol immersion procession of the Hindu goddess Durga in Jharkhand’s Palamau district, police said yesterday.

“Prohibitory (Section 144) orders have been imposed. Additional forces have been deployed. Those who suffered losses in the clashes will be compensated,” said Palamau Superintendent of Police Indrajeet Mahta. Ten people have been arrested. (IANS)
