Now, charge your electric vehicle on the move in Dubai

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has launched a mobile charging station for electric vehicles, which will can travel to a customer’s location and recharge his/her vehicle so it can reach the nearest recharging station.

The mobile charging station was launched by Mattar Al Tayer, directorge­neral and chairman of the board of executive directors of RTA. The mobile charging station will be displayed at Wetex 2018, which runs till Thursday at Dubai World Trade Centre.

The mobile charging station initiative aims to support the response to emergency cases to boost public confidence in the use of electric vehicles.

Dubai taxis

Al Tayer also said the RTA is supplying the Dubai Taxi Corporatio­n (DTC) with 200 Tesla electric vehicles. Fifty of these electric vehicles have already started operation, 75 others will be added before the end of this year, and the remaining 75 vehicles will be supplied in 2019.

DTC coordinate­d with the concerned entities to ensure the operation of these vehicles by providing 13 electric charging stations.
