Fake cop charged with kidnap bid

man has been accused of impersonating a policeman and attempting to kidnap a female supervisor, a court heard on Monday.

The Filipina was waiting for a friend beside a mosque when the man from Comoros Island stopped his car in front of her in January. He asked her to get in, but she refused. He claimed he was a policeman and sought to see her driving licence. When she asked him to show his ID, he tried to drag her into the car. As she screamed for help the man drove off. Police later arrested the suspect. (Staff Report)
