Man jailed for burning body of dead friend

man was jailed for a year for aiding three others in getting rid of their friend’s body by burning it after the latter died of a drug overdose.

Police arrested an Emirati, 18, and two other men, 20 and 23, while a fourth man remained at large.

The absconder, who was sentenced in absentia in May, was apprehended later by the police and he requested a retrial. In his retrial the accused pleaded not guilty. The judge sentenced him to one year followed by deportation. (Staff Report)
