Al Dhafra climb the standings

Al Dhafra picked up three vital points in the fight for Arabian Gulf League survival last night as they defeated Emirates Club 2-0 at Hamdan Bin Zayed Stadium.

Abdallah Ismail Elrefaey opened the scoring for the hosts after 18 minutes and Khalid Bawazir doubled their advantage with 25 minutes on the clock. Try as they might, Emirates could not find a way back into the game.

The victory rocketed Al Dhafra up the table to seventh spot while Emirates were left languishing in second bottom place on four points. (Staff Report)
