What is KhalifaSat and what does it do?
The KhalifaSat Earth observation satellite was launched by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency from its Tanegashima Space Centre yesterday, marking a historic milestone in the UAE’s space programme.
What are the uses of KhalifaSat’s images?
Satellite imagery captured with a resolution of 70cm plus 3D images, for free use by all UAE Government entities and universities. The satellite can also take images up to 12km in width and 1,500km long and up to 36km in width through advanced control system that enables three consecutive imagings in one. It can provide environmental studies including detecting oil spills on land, monitoring land contamination, water quality and water resources monitoring.
