Australian jailed for aiding wife’s suicide

Australian man was sentenced to 10 years in prison yesterday for helping his wife commit suicide so he could access her life insurance.

Graham Morant, 69, was found guilty last month of counselling and aiding his wife Jennifer Morant to kill herself in 2014. A court heard that Morant helped his wife buy equipment to aid her suicide.

She suffered from chronic back pain and depression and was found dead in her car by police alongside a note asking not to be resuscitated. (AFP)
