- Staff Report

Dubai EnSENble, the UAE’s first choir for ‘Determined Ones’, is set to dazzle spectators at a concert in Dubai on November 23, supported by the UAE Philharmonic Orchestra.

Around 25 determined youngsters will demonstrate their choral singing talent at the concert that will be held at the Red Theatre of Canadian University Dubai (CUD) at 5pm, along with guest performers from the ‘Which School Advisor’ Musician of the Year competition and choirs from schools around Dubai.

Among the songs they will perform are My UAE, Africa (by Toto) and some Jamaican numbers. The determined ones will also perform songs with the Dubai College Chamber Choir and Victory Heights Primary School Choir. The UAE Philharmonic Orchestra will accompany the choir, as well as perform its own music, including Mozart’s Symphony No. 25.

The unique choir was founded in September 2017 by Rivaan Mager, Music Coordinator at CUD and Dusan Popovic, Sports Coordinator at CUD. Both share a passion for working with people of determination and helping them face challenges through their shared love of music.

“The choir welcomes new members and there are speech therapists to train. Through our passion for music we want to show the UAE community that music unites everyone irrespective of our personal challenges in life. The choir rehearses every Thursday at the Canadian University Dubai from 4.30 to 5.30pm,” said Rivaan.

The choir has been winning accolades from audiences since its launch last year.
