Boeing opens service centre in Dubai

1998 - Boeing inaugurated its first Middle East customer service centre at Dubai International Airport Free Zone. The centre will significantly enhance spare parts support to airlines throughout the region. Boeing is the first commercial jetliner manufacturer to set up such a regional facility, which is expected to have an investment of $100 million (Dh367.8 million) within ten years, said Darce Lamb, Boeing vice-president for airline logistics support.
