Crowd beats suspect to death over girl’s rape

A young man was beaten to death in Jharkhand after he allegedly raped the minor daughter of his friend.

The police have registered a case against more than 24 villagers in connection with the incident. All are absconding.

Reports said the rape victim’s family had asked the accused man to keep watch over their home, in West Singhbhum district, on Friday night. The 21-year-old youth allegedly dragged the girl into one corner of the house and allegedly raped her at night. (Staff Report)
