Health units to tackle dengue, Congo fever
National Institute of Health (NIH) has established Disease Surveillance and Response Units (DSRUs) in provinces for the prevention and control of dengue and Congo fevers.
The units have been established in collaboration with Field Epidemiology & Laboratory Training Programme (FELTP), in the DirectorateGeneral of Health Services, in the regions of Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, FATA and Karachi.
Trained personnel, along with FELTP trainees, have been deployed to conduct outbreak investigations, respond diseases and collect surveillance data, officials said. (APP)
