Writing is cool
We don’t have to build our image based on people’s opinion
Is it about wearing classy and fashionable clothes? Is it about showing off one’s beauty? While the idea of cool may differ from person to person, my idea of being cool is being one’s self. We all are confused about what it means to be cool. If we imitate famous people in order to be cool, that leads us to the only conclusion: these famous people are cool because they are themselves. What is the use of seeking people’s attention when we are just being someone who is nothing like us?
Everyone is cool in his or her own way. Some of us are a failure at studies which is not very cool, but good at magic tricks that make us kind of cool. Others get made fun of but still move on with a smile and confidence that makes them the coolest.
If we study hard we are called nerds which is disheartening more than being uncool, but we move forward and achieve our goals and that makes us super cool.
If putting on extra layers of lipgloss or wearing trendy sneakers would make us cool, then we don’t know our coolness value.
Speaking for myself, I’m good at drawing and writing. I like being at home with family. I’ll even say this: I’m a kind of a sloth. I’m even an otaku (a Japanese term for people with obsessive interests). People say that’s uncool because they assume as a teenager, I should be out partying. I don’t take these comments seriously because writing is cool, cherishing family is cool, loving one’s house is cool. So is having artistic talent.
