Iraq’s stability vital for region — UAE
His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, yesterday received Barham Salih, President of Iraq, at the Presidential Palace here.
Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, were also present. The talks focused on ways to bolster bilateral cooperation, as well as avenues and opportunities for developing them in the field of economy, investments and development.
The Abu Dhabi Crown Prince stressed that Iraq’s stability is a cornerstone for the stability of the region as a whole. He pointed out that progress and prosperity of Iraq is in Arab, regional and international interest, considering its strategic importance. He emphasised that the UAE stands by Iraq and supports it.
Shaikh Mohammad said the UAE was among the first countries to take the initiative in supporting Iraq over the past years — be it matters of its economic and overall development or preserving Iraqi heritage and protecting it from threats posed by terrorist forces that attempted to destroy it.
