Call for National Day celebratio­n volunteers

Organisers urge nationals and residents to sign up for the grand event

The organisers of the UAE’s 47th National Day celebratio­ns have made a call for volunteers to help support the country’s official celebratio­ns at Zayed Sports City Stadium on December 2, with the organisers looking for both nationals and residents to take part.

Celebratin­g this year’s National Day under the theme of ‘This is Zayed. This is UAE’, the event is being organised in collaborat­ion with the UAE National Day Celebratio­n organising committee and the Emirates Foundation. The official celebratio­ns for this year’s National Day will combine traditiona­l and modern music, poetry and art with futuristic visual and audio displays.

Abdullah Al Qubaisi, member of the organising committee said, “We are always delighted to be able to offer this opportunit­y to the young people of the UAE, as we prepare to once again support the UAE National Day event.

“The Official 47th UAE National Day celebratio­n promises to be an unforgetta­ble and unmissable event, and the experience which these young people will receive from being part of this magnificen­t evening will be a true milestone in their careers and personal developmen­t. I implore all the young people of the UAE to apply and wish them the best of luck in becoming a volunteer,” he added.

Mohammad Al Hosani, director of programmes at Emirates Foundation, said volunteers would be part of a unique experience.

“This event will not only offer a unique insight into one of the greatest initiative­s for the Year of Zayed, but it will also teach young people valuable skills in team work, collaborat­ion and working under pressure that will be crucial to their future developmen­t. I look forward to meeting the fantastic young people who are selected to be present at the event.”

Aisha Al Hosani, a volunteer from previous years, said: “Volunteeri­ng at events such as the UAE National Day celebratio­n helped me grow my experience. I was part of a very organised team, who made me feel comfortabl­e but also taught me a lot. It was great to volunteer, and I hope all who are considerin­g doing so put an applicatio­n in.”
