Call for National Day celebration volunteers
Organisers urge nationals and residents to sign up for the grand event
The organisers of the UAE’s 47th National Day celebrations have made a call for volunteers to help support the country’s official celebrations at Zayed Sports City Stadium on December 2, with the organisers looking for both nationals and residents to take part.
Celebrating this year’s National Day under the theme of ‘This is Zayed. This is UAE’, the event is being organised in collaboration with the UAE National Day Celebration organising committee and the Emirates Foundation. The official celebrations for this year’s National Day will combine traditional and modern music, poetry and art with futuristic visual and audio displays.
Abdullah Al Qubaisi, member of the organising committee said, “We are always delighted to be able to offer this opportunity to the young people of the UAE, as we prepare to once again support the UAE National Day event.
“The Official 47th UAE National Day celebration promises to be an unforgettable and unmissable event, and the experience which these young people will receive from being part of this magnificent evening will be a true milestone in their careers and personal development. I implore all the young people of the UAE to apply and wish them the best of luck in becoming a volunteer,” he added.
Mohammad Al Hosani, director of programmes at Emirates Foundation, said volunteers would be part of a unique experience.
“This event will not only offer a unique insight into one of the greatest initiatives for the Year of Zayed, but it will also teach young people valuable skills in team work, collaboration and working under pressure that will be crucial to their future development. I look forward to meeting the fantastic young people who are selected to be present at the event.”
Aisha Al Hosani, a volunteer from previous years, said: “Volunteering at events such as the UAE National Day celebration helped me grow my experience. I was part of a very organised team, who made me feel comfortable but also taught me a lot. It was great to volunteer, and I hope all who are considering doing so put an application in.”
