Three categories
The foreign direct investment (FDI) law, which came into force on October 30, sorts business activity into three separate categories:
Negative list
Companies and sectors that will continue to be limited to national investment.
Positive list
Encompasses sectors now open to foreign investment.
Other sectors
Sectors that are not specifically permitted or banned, but subject to review.
