Sturridge denies betting allegations
Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has denied allegations by England’s FA that he violated rules on gambling.
“Daniel has given his full and unequivocal cooperation throughout this process and has assured the club he will continue to do so,” Liverpool said in a statement. “Daniel has also stated categorically that he has never gambled on football.”
Sturridge could be facing a ban from football after being charged on Monday.
The FA said the alleged breaches took place in January 2018, when Sturridge was on loan from Liverpool at West Brom.
