Dubai’s futuristic house of reading
Dubai Municipality yesterday released the first look of the futuristic interior of the Mohammad Bin Rashid Library project, coming up along Dubai Creek in Al Jaddaf area. The image shows a massive hall with a spiralling roof and escalators that go to the upper floors. The municipality’s directorgeneral Dawood
Al Hajiri inspected the progress of the project, now 72 per cent complete. With a built-up area of 66,000 square metres, the main building comprises a basement, ground floor, and seven storeys. Shaped like a bookrest, the massive library will house millions of books, e-books, and audiovisual materials.
