‘Mangalyam’, a look at life after marriage
Malayalam film Mangalyam Thanthunanena, directed by Soumya Sadanandan, explores a couple’s relationship after they tie the knot.
Kunchako Boban plays Roy, who had been working in the Gulf but is now unemployed. His wife Clara, played by Nimisha Sajayan (pictured), belongs to a family of bankers. While Roy’s search for work looks futile, he is not keen on joining Clara’s family business. Trouble brews when he asks Clara for her jewellery so he can get a loan.
This family drama written by Tony Madathil is supported by an interesting cast including Shanthi Krishna, Alencier Ley Lopez and Vijayaraghavan.
Mangalyam Thanthunanena refers to the mangalyasutram (sacred necklace) tied by the groom around the bride’s neck.
The film releases in the UAE today.
