Cyclone Gaja to cross coast in Tamil Nadu

Gaja, centred over Bay of Bengal, is likely to intensify into a severe cyclonic storm and cross the Tamil Nadu coast between Pamban and Cuddalore, the Met department said.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said wind speeds would be about 80-90km/h, gusting at 100 km/h. Gaja is likely to move west to southwestward and cross between Pamban and Cuddalore.

Rough seas are expected along and off Tamil Nadu, south Andhra Pradesh and Puducherry coasts. (IANS)
