Senate bypoll for Punjab seats begin

Senate by-election for two seats from Punjab began here yesterday, with provincial election commission­er Zafar Iqbal Hussain being the returning officer.

Polling will continue from 9am to 6pm without any break at the Punjab Assembly building, which has been declared the polling station.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s (PTI) Walid Iqbal and Pakistan Muslim LeagueNawa­z’s (PML-N) Saud Majeed are contesting for the general senate seat; PTI’s Seemee Ezdi and PML-N’s Saira Afzal Tarar are vying for the seat reserved for women. (APP)
