Siriwardene helps Sri Lanka win
Shashikala Siriwardene helped Sri Lanka to their first win of the ICC Women’s World T20 2018 on Wednesday. The 25-run win over Bangladesh kept Chamari Athapaththu’s side in the running for a semifinal spot from Group A.
Siriwardene struck a 33ball 31 as Sri Lanka posted 97-7. She also took two Bangladesh wickets for 10 runs to guide her side to victory.
With a chaseable target on the board, Bangladesh’s hopes were shattered as they lost openers Sanjida Islam and Fargana Hoque to Udeshika Prabodhani without a run on the board and they stumbled to 72 all out.
