Artist paints stay-at-home women’s dream

by Arpita Chandra created a dreamland in her ongoing exhibition ‘Dream’ here, narrating the tale of women who may be physically at home, but their imagination runs wild and unrestrained.

The show of 23 mix media works — at the Triveni Kala Sangam here — depicts fluid female figures against a backdrop of domestic objects. “I paint women who remain within the confines of their homes, but nobody can stop their dreams,” Chandra, a former student of Kolkata’s Government College of Art, said.
