MySat-1 launched
Miniature satellite made by students of Khalifa University of Science and Technology to take images of UAE from space and test experimental battery
• MySat-1 is developed by 20 graduate students of Khalifa University of Science and Technology at Yahsat Space Lab in Abu Dhabi, UAE
• The box-like miniature satellite measures 10cm on each side.
• It features two payloads: a camera for earth observation purposes and an experimental
coin cell battery based on technology developed at Khalifa University
• MySat-1 successfully launched on Saturday from Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia, US to ISS on board the Cygnus NG-10 resupply mission
• Once MySat-1 is released into orbit in 2019, it will be used for educational and research purposes
