‘Butch Cassidy’ writer William Goldman dies

William Goldman, the Oscar-winning screenwriter behind

and has died. The 87-year-old died on Friday morning in New York City following complications from cancer and pneumonia. his first original screenplay about a pair of outlaws, won him his first Oscar in 1970.
