Telangana CM cautions people against Naidu
If TRS is defeated it is your loss not mine, Rao tells people in Adilabad
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao — under pressure from the Congress-led opposition Grand Alliance — has gone on an offensive against his Andhra Pradesh counterpart and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu portraying him as a “serious threat and calamity” for Telangana.
Addressing a series of election meetings in Adilabad and other places yesterday, KCR put the onus of getting him reelected for another term on the people, saying: “I have nothing to lose if the TRS is defeated. If you get me elected, I will continue the hard work. Otherwise I will sleep at home and take rest, do farming. Whose loss would that be?”
He asked people to be aware of the Congress-TDP nexus or suffer the consequences.
At a meeting at Ichoda in Adilabad district yesterday, KCR said: “Again, the Congress party has joined hands with the anti-Telangana party TDP. What does Chandrababu Naidu have to do in Telangana? Will people tolerate if he tries to meddle in Maharashtra politics?” he asked in a clear bid to raise Telangana’s sentiments against TDP and its leader. “If we have to permanently get rid of the curse of Naidu, the time has come for people to teach the Congress a lesson and get their deposits forfeited”, he said.
At another meeting in Khanapur, he reminded the people that it was he who fought and achieved the separate Telangana state. “What they (Congress) did for the last 58 years? If they come to power, it will be the same old story of power shortages and darkness,” he said.
