Noted feminist writer Fahmida Riaz dead
Eminent Pakistani feminist writer and poet Fahmida Riaz died here on Wednesday night. She was 72.
The progressive writer had been ill for the past few months, Dawn News said.
Riaz was also a human rights activist and the author of more than 15 books on fiction and poetry. Badan Dareeda, her second collection of verse was controversial for its erotic and sensual expressions. Born in July 1946 into a literary family in Meerut in present-day India, Riaz also played an active role in social and political activities. (IANS)
