South Korea promises more at its Expo 2020 pavilion
Korea is planning many cultural events during the expo to ‘create the future with the UAE’
During the Expo 2020 in the UAE, the Korean Pavilion is expected to be more than just a business and architectural showcase.
Thanks to the popularity of Korean cultural content in the GCC — such as their TV series, pop music and more — Korea is planning many cultural events during the expo.
“When someone falls in love with a country’s culture, he or she will be more likely to travel to that country, buy products from that country, ■ and do business with that country. So, having cultural events alongside business events will allow us to ‘create the future with the UAE’,” said Pyung Oh Kwon, CEO and president of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (Kotra). Korea also plans to bid to host the World Expo in Busan city, in 2030.
