DED, Visa agree to promote online retail

Dubai’s

Department of Economic Development (DED) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with digital payments provider Visa to encourage more merchants to take their business online.

The move is expected to help grow the UAE’s consumer e-commerce sector, while educating consumers on the benefits of digital payments and shopping and paying online.

The agreement was signed by Sami Al Qamzi, director-general of DED, and Marcello Baricordi, General Manager for MENA, Visa. (Staff Report)
