190 nations unite to sing Ishy Bilady in harmony
An orchestra with members of 190 nationalities, including seven Emirati musicians, gathered in the desert to perform the UAE national anthem as part of Expo 2020’s celebrations to mark 47th UAE National Day. The performance titled Ishy Bilady (long live my country) was filmed by the UAE’s first female director Nayla Al Khaja. The video begins with a shot of the picturesque desert off Al Qudra and an empty stage. Seven Emiratis take their positions before being joined by a diverse group of people from across the UAE. An Expo 2020 volunteer then presents the lyrics of the national anthem in sign language.
