Drunk visitor assaults two police officers

A visitor has been accused of headbutting a policeman and striking a sergeant with a liquor bottle when they tried to apprehend him for running drunk on a street. A woman was said to have reported to Dubai police that a drunk man was seen running down a street carrying a liquor bottle in Tecom in August. According to the charges, prosecutors said the suspect cursed the policeman and the sergeant while they were apprehending him. Presiding judge Mohammad Jamal said the suspect will be sentenced in absentia on December 18.
