Pupils release 47 Houbara bustards

Pupils from schools in Al Ain yesterday released 47 Houbara bustards produced by the International Fund for Houbara Conservation, in celebration of the 47th UAE National Day. Forty pupils from local schools released the birds, which were fitted with special UAE-coloured rings to commemorate the occasion, at the Telal Resort. For the first time, officials from the Ministry of Education also attended the release. (WAM)
