Employment
The National Employment Strategy 2031 seeks to increase the participation of citizens in the labour market by enhancing women’s participation and increasing Emiratisation rates in value-added sectors, the most important of which are the energy, communications, technology, transport and storage sectors, the financial, health and educational sectors, and in areas of artificial intelligence, space, digital transactions and advanced science. This was stated by Nasser Al Hameli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation. The total number of Emiratis working in the government and private sectors will grow to about 610,000 by 2031. This strategy also aims to support the government’s efforts to build a knowledge-based economy by empowering labour productivity, increasing the number of research-and-development personnel and promoting entrepreneurship. Al Hameli explained that the National Employment Strategy will aim to attain significant achievements in less than a year in implementation of the directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to accelerate the pace of Emiratisation.
