The missing of Lebanon
Mothers and relatives of Lebanese citizens who disappeared or went missing since the Lebanese civil war in 1975 carry their pictures during a press conference in downtown Beirut yesterday. Lebanon has passed a law to investigate the fate of thousands of people who went missing during the country’s civil war. Around 17,000 people are believed to have been “kidnapped or disappeared” during the 1975-1990 conflict.
