Adnoc to expand carbon dioxide capture
Abu
Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) is planning to expand the capture, storage and utilisation of carbon dioxide (CO2) to boost oil recovery and reduce its carbon footprint.
In a statement yesterday, Adnoc said by 2025, modifications to either the Shah ultra-sour gas plant or Habshan-Bab gas complex will help the company to capture around 2 million tons of CO2 per year.
The Shah plant processes about 1.3 billion standard cubic feet per day (scfd) of sour gas and associated condensates. (Staff Report)
