Nearly 1,000 accidents in Punjab in a day

people died and 960 others sustained injuries in road accidents in Punjab province within 24 hours, officials said yesterday.

The Punjab Emergency Service, or Rescue-1122, responded to 932 road accidents in all 36 districts the province. As many as 567 seriously injured people were shifted to different hospitals while 393 with minor injuries were provided first aid on the spot.

Data showed 22 underage drivers, 132 pedestrians and 441 passengers were among the crash victims. (APP)
