Zayed: Leader of the Humans

A cast of more than 25 people perform as part of a dedication to the father and founder of the UAE, Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, at the Global Village main stage. Also, the UAE’s biggest gathering for the National Anthem recitation will take place at 9pm, the anthem will be played out loud across the park’s internal speakers. Entry is Dh15.

Emirati Poetry Nights

Prominent UAE poets will be showcasing their oratory skills in honour of the National Day, at Burj Park. Today, watch Saeed Al Falahi, Hamad Al Bloushi and Ali Al-Qahtani, while tomorrow will feature Saoud Al Mossabi, Hadi Al Mansouri and Mohamed Al Kaabi. From 6-7pm, free entry.

Arabic Festivitie­s

Celebrate the UAE National Day with traditiona­l Arabic music and cultural performanc­es, along with samples of free Arabic delicacies while getting your hands painted with henna, at The Dubai Garden Centre, from 10am to 2.30pm. Cultural activities

Dragon Mart will celebrate the UAE National Day with a line-up of cultural activities and traditiona­l entertainm­ent, including a palm tree majlis at Dragon Mart 2 serving free food and beverages, showcasing local handicraft­s and henna art. Guests can also enjoy traditiona­l Yola, Al Ayalah and Laiwa dance performanc­es. Today until Monday, from 5-9pm.

Burj Park concerts

Burj Park, Downtown Dubai will stage live concerts across today and tomorrow for National

Day. Today Waleed Al Shami and Ahlam perform, followed by pop icon Balqees and Ras Al Khaimah native Hussain Al Jasmi tomrrow. At the Burj Park, from 6pm. Free entry.

Fireworks at The Beach

Firework displays today and tomorrow at 8pm along with live dance performanc­es, roaming giant mascots and traditiona­l Al Ayalah dance performanc­es, from 6pm. Free entry.
