Housing for All target ‘can be reached soon’

Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri yesterday said the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) will achieve its target two years before its 2022 deadline.

Every three months several housing projects are being sanctioned and execution of projects under PMAY are excellent, Puri said. The ‘Housing for All’ mission would be achieved by third quarter of 2020 instead of 2022, the minister said. He said Rs600 billion (Dh31.6 billion) under the National Urban Housing Fund has been provided. (IANS)
