Fake diplomat sent to jail for assaulting cops

man, who claimed to be a diplomat, has been jailed for three months for assaulting, cursing and threatening two policemen who stopped him for driving recklessly.

The policemen chased a speeding car in Al Barsha in May, and asked the driver to stop. As they asked the Kuwaiti driver, 30, for his papers, the latter identified himself as a diplomat. As a policemen asked for his personal identification papers, the defendant assaulted the policemen, cursed them and threatened to have them sacked. (Staff Report)
