Quran teacher loses appeal in abuse case

home Quran teacher lost his appeal and will spend 6 months in jail for molesting a 15-year-old schoolgirl during private lessons at her residence. The Indian schoolgirl took private lessons last June with the 40-year-old Bangladeshi teacher, who taught her how to read and recite the Quran. In July, the Dubai Court of First Instance convicted the defendant of molesting his student. Presiding judge Saeed Salem Bin Sarm yesterday dismissed the defendant’s appeal and upheld his primary punishment.
