Rail, the ambitious railway project headquartered in Abu Dhabi, has launched prequalification for railway integration and systems contractors as it pushes ahead with stage two of the network.
It has invited firms to express interest in almost 550 kilometres worth of mainline around the UAE, including Dubai, Sharjah and Fujairah. “The railway shall include depots, freight facilities… and passenger stations,” the tender document said. Prequalification documents will be available for purchase on December 6, at a cost of Dh21,000. (Staff Report)
