Etihad Rail seeks bids for railway integratio­n

Rail, the ambitious railway project headquarte­red in Abu Dhabi, has launched prequalifi­cation for railway integratio­n and systems contractor­s as it pushes ahead with stage two of the network.

It has invited firms to express interest in almost 550 kilometres worth of mainline around the UAE, including Dubai, Sharjah and Fujairah. “The railway shall include depots, freight facilities… and passenger stations,” the tender document said. Prequalifi­cation documents will be available for purchase on December 6, at a cost of Dh21,000. (Staff Report)
